The guys over at Donanimhaber got their hand on the HD 6990 press deck. It seems that I was wrong about the clocks earlier as the folks at AMD decided to bump up the clocks on the base model and a bit more on the OC variant to counter nVIDIA’s dual GPU solution, the GTX 590. Turning up the dial to 10 and 11 had its tall though, the power consumption went up to as the base model operates at 830/5000MHz with the maximum PowerTune TDP of 375W and the one baring the “OC” moniker operating at 880/5000MHz has the max. TDP of 415W. The 12 phase power circuitry (4+2 phases per GPU) is capable of delivering up to 450W of power, which should give a decent overclocking headroom for enthusiasts. For connectivity the card features 4 mini DisplayPorts and one DualLink DVI.
